People join a church for a number of reasons and one of those reasons is fellowship. In fact, a church is defined as a fellowship of believers. Several passages of Scripture support this definition in one form or another, but I want to point out these few:
1 Corinthians 12:12… For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. The idea is that in Christ, we are made to be members of the same body. In other words, we are not independent from one another and we need each other. Consequently, Hebrews 10:24-25 points out that since we are members of the same Body, we should in fact crave to gather with one another and to fellowship together:
And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the day drawing near. We have roles we must play in each other’s lives, just like the members of the body work together so should we operate as one. When one member experiences hardship or hurt, the other members should rally around in support. In other words, we should “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ” (Galatians 6:2).
The Christian life is not meant to be lived solo, it is a fellowship. We have fellowship together and “our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ” (1 John 1:3). Our connection together is one that cannot be broken.
Fellowship is one of the most important characteristic of a church, Salt and Light Church is a fellowship of believers determined to honor and serve the Lord, and to love and support fellow believers. When you visit, you undoubtedly will sense the the work of the Spirit of God and the love the members have for people.
